Don't Give up...Don't Ever Give up

Hey guys, time for me to be serious for a few minutes. Today ESPN Radio is holding their annual auctions to benefit the V foundation. For those of you who don't know Jim Valvano was a college basketball coach in the 80s. There is a famous video taken of him just after winning the NCAA championship for North Carolina in 1983 of him running up the court frantically looking for someone to celebrate with.

Sadly, Jim Valvano was diagnosed with cancer in cancer in 1992 and it spread rapidly. On March 3, 1993, Valvano gave the speech above at the ESPY awards. It is by far one of the best speeches that I have ever seen. Even facing certain death, Valvano gives a passionate speech that I encourage you all to watch. Near the end, he announces the creation of the V foundation for cancer research. I am here to ask that you donate some money to help with cancer research. "To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."
